This past weekend Joe and I were able to get away for a few days and it was so relaxing! Since I'm six months pregnant I really didn't want to go anywhere hot and I knew I definitely did not want to fly. My sickness is still in full force and getting sick on a plane did not sound like a good time to me. We decided on North Conway, New Hampshire because we wanted to go leaf peeping and enjoy the beautiful mountains.
We stayed in the sweetest cottage just outside of North Conway, in Albany, New Hampshire. It was literally perfect for the two of us and we were even able to bring our chocolate lab, Lily! Bringing her was so exciting for us because she loves to be outside and we didn't have to pay to board her at doggie daycare.

The cottage is located just outside of North Conway on a quiet road. It's about a ten minute drive to all the local restaurants and shopping. It included a full kitchen, which was awesome because being six months pregnant I need to eat as soon as I wake up in the morning. We bought some juice, and breakfast items at the local grocery store, which was right down the street. There was even on site washer and dryer so I was able to clean all of our dirty laundry before heading home!
When it came to finding restaurants we wanted to try, Yelp came in handy! Our first night there we had dinner at The Muddy Moose. It had the cutest outdoorsy decor, with antler chandeliers. The Menu had a great selection of food too.
We were able to get brunch at my FAVORITE breakfast spot. I highly recommend Peaches for a breakfast date. The prices are very reasonable and the food is consistently delicious. I had the cinnamon apple crepes and a hot chocolate, needless to say my tummy was happy! The Menu offers a great selection and if your bring your dog, like we did, you can sit on the outside patio with them.
Our last night we had a hard time getting into a restaurant that didn't have an hour wait. So I highly suggest on the weekend making a reservation somewhere you will want to go. We ended up at May Kelly's Cottage and to be honest I didn't have my hopes up when it came to the food. We were greeted by a hostess, whom had a genuine Irish accent! She was the cutest, and were able to sit down right away. The food was honestly amazing! I ordered the traditional sheppard pie, and it was so good.
For leaf peeping I highly recommend the White Mountain National Forest which was about 20 minutes North from where we stayed. The foliage and mountains were absolutely breathtaking.
